About Julia Purchase
For the past 20 years, Julia Purchase has become a recognized name in the Colorado family law community because of her straightforward, compassionate and reliable approach to child advocacy and dispute resolution services.
With experience interviewing hundreds of children as a trusted expert in child and family investigations, she brings a unique perspective to every case. She has addressed a wide range of family issues — from special needs and domestic violence to child abuse, resist/refuse dynamics, and other complex circumstances. This insight helps her understand what’s best for each child and take early steps to protect their well-being.
Julia has dedicated her career to practicing family law and helping families and children through the legal process. Her experience includes litigating domestic relation disputes and collaborating in the resolution of all aspects of marriage dissolution, including sensitive parenting disputes, complex financial disputes and appellate issues involving family law matters.
A skilled and experienced mediator, Julia specializes in low-cost mediation of family law cases. She is passionate about helping people find better ways to resolve disputes and is inspired by the idea that conflicts can be resolved in amicable ways with the least amount of stress possible for both individuals and children.
Julia received an undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston. As an undergraduate, she focused her studies on psychology and business. Prior to studying law, Julia helped families and children of abuse and neglect at the Austin Children’s Shelter and the Texas Council on Family Violence. Julia has practiced before the Colorado District Court, Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court and is an active member of the Family Law Bar.
A native Texan, Julia has lived in Colorado since 2005. While still somewhat weary of the snow, she loves to enjoy all of the outdoor experiences Colorado has to offer. The majority of her free time is spent doing just that, with her husband and children.
Julia M. Purchase has completed the required HB 23-1178(5)(a) domestic violence and child abuse training.
